The Royal regiment of Scotland is part of the UK army but if Scotland were to become to an independent country would the Royal Regiment of Scotland become the army of Scotland. What would happen to the armed forces in Scotland?
What I mean is would the Royal Regiment of Scotland become the army of Scotland independent of the UK if Scotland were to become an independent country?

David vs. Donald (Goliath) ?

dresdendroog asked:

Well, if anyone cared to watch Yahoo News, Donald trump is attempting to create a massive golf resort in Scotland. It’s acclaimed to be “the greatest ever”. He has all the property ready, all except for 23 acres owned by a stubborn local which happens to be in the middle of the resort. His housing situation isn’t conventionally beautiful, which poses a threat that the greatest golf course will have an ‘eyesore’ right in the middle of it. I personally back David 100%, what a great story of someone standing up to a tycoon and proving that money doesn’t begin to compare to sentimental belonging. Anyone who agrees, put in your two cents worth and let’s support David!

I thought of doing a paddywagon tour but heard that they were very bad in terms of grotty accomodation etc….the other tours I’ve seen are way outside my budget, nor do I want something that is only about drinking and partying…

Now I am wondering what is the cheapest but safest means fo travel – is there a hop on hop off bus of south Ireland and Scotland? or a train?

Scottish Border “Towers”?

rammsteinfan-1 asked:

About 20 years ago I lived in a town called Kelso in the Scottish borders. In my travels, I one day came upon two huge “towers” standing close to eachother atop a hilly field. These were not castle towers. They were completely free-standing, and had clearly never been part of another building. They were probably built somewhere in the late 1800′s/early 1900′s. They seemed to have been left unused for some time, but were still intact. At a guess, I would say they were somewhere around 150 feet tall and identical, one being in slightly better shape than the other. They were stone-built and cylindrical, with a small (boarded-up) door at the bottom and a small, (I think) hexagonal walk-way around the top. I even rember their approximate location. If you leave Kelso from the south and head west past Roxburgh, they were somewhere close to the intersection with the A68.
If anyone can tell me what these are and a brief history, I’d be very grateful.

I live in America but am going to visit family in Scotland. I would like to send my husband who is in the US military a parcel of goodies from Scotland while I am there. How do I go about doing this? He is deployed to Afghanistan and I normally send things to his APO address.

France, Italy and Scotland are in same group in Euro 2008 qualifiers.

Scotland are first, Italy are second and France are third.

Is it possible that all three are qualified for Euro 2008?

Or it’s only the first 2 teams which will qualify?

Can Reface Scotland Really Save Me Money?

David Simm asked:

I’ve had an excellent quote to reface my kitchen from Reface Scotland in Glasgow. The quality appears to be excellent from what the sales guy showed me. I live too far away from their showroom to see it for myself but their website looks really good. I’m just wondering if there is a catch as the quote is less than half of the one from B&Q and almost a third of one from MFI. I’m not really changing the shape of the kitchen so don’t mind keeping the units.
Has anyone used Reface Scotland before? If so I would love to hear from you.

Now that the BBC have SPL highlights on a Monday now and not ITV… They also used the same theme tune for the Scotland v NI highlights last night.
It is a familiar Scottish song but I can’t place it.

Thanks in advance for your help.
