What type of i.d. card would be asked of someone entering a bar/ordering a drink in Scotland? For example, do they use EU cards, unique driver’s licenses, etc?

I was thinking of joining a street team, and I live in Glasgow and was wondering if you had to get a permit to hand flyers out outside Central station or outside shops etc. Also, if anyone has any websites about handing out leaflets in Scotland, links would be much appreciated.
