For example Football originated in medieval Europe. Tennis originated in France. Golf originated in Scotland. American football, basketball and baseball originated in America. Cricket originated in England.
Even what I thought of a quintessential eastern sport – Ping Pong – (due to its dominance by Chinese players) actually originated in England.
