Paul B asked:
I will be traveling to Edinburgh with my wife and infant daughter on October 16th-23rd to visit family in Linlithgow. We will have a rental car…so I would like to see the highlands and the coast. I am not so interested in golf or visiting the big cities…can you recommend any towns or sights that are worth seeing?

Depends on whether you are returning to Linlithgow each night for B&B.You will not be be there long enough to see the North of Scotland. Try driving up the West coast passed Loch Lomond to Oban and Fort William see Ben Nevis.
Drive through Glen Coe learn about the massacre of Glen Coe.
Drive up the East coast through Fife and visit some of the coastal villages, try the world famous ‘fish & chips in Anstruther, though you not into golf, continue on to St. Andrews. It is worth a visit. Where ever you go you will find something of interest.
