Try abroad. This really is the worst time for the UK
Scotland/Scottish islands can be quite pretty if it is cold and you get sunshine and snow on the mountains. If not, it could be very miserable. Lots of places may be closed as it is the off-season. Also days will still be quite short – dark by 5.30. Channel islands will be warmer(relatively), but again could be really miserable if the weather is bad.
