I am Scottish and live and work abroad and have noticed that the british nation are arrogant, noisy and seem to think they are better than the staff that serve them. How would they like to be treated the same in their workplace? I was brought up that if your nice to people they will be nice to you.. Not so!!!!!

I work in retail and I notice the same thing everyday. The thing that gets me is that people are so rude these days. I’ve lost count of the number of times customers start talking at me from 10 feet away, and no one ever seems to say excuse me any more. There is one thing though, it’s not just British people, the European customers we have are just as bad.
Put some laxatives in their next haggis order and watch them be worse than the staff that serve them.
Or put itching powder in the sporren they hire for their Scottish tourist photos..
Scottish gals = the sexiest voices of all…
I am really sorry to hear this, and I can agree with you too. I have only been abroad once with my family to Kos. The behaviour of some hotel guests was appalling and left me feeling embarrassed and more than a little ashamed. It made me even more determined to show our hosts that not all Brits abroad should be tarred with the same brush. Suffice to say at the end of our holiday the owner shook my hand and hoped that we would return.
When abroad it should be remembered that we are ambassadors of our country. Not wild animals on the loose without a care for local customs and people.
I now live and work in Tenerife and I have to agree with you! They come over here on holiday and they leave their manners at whichever airport they flew from….. They treat not only us with contempt but as for the locals, well, I would love for one of them to actually be able to react and tell them what they really think of their behaviour!!! Sometimes I would just like to pretend that it´s nothing to do with me but ………….. not possible!!!!!
