Terry asked:
I live in Shreveport, Louisiana. My high school, Caddo Magnet High School, has been invited to perform in Edinburgh, Scotland for the American High School Theatre Festival. Our school has been lucky enough to be one of the 26 high schools in the nation chosen to attend. We are also the first high school drama department ever chosen from Louisiana. I am in serious need of funding- the trip, which is in August 2010, is $6,000!

Host a car wash.
Host an actor’s workshop/day camp for little kids. So many parents are looking for something educational/entertaining for their child. Charge daily fee.
Write letters to community members, friends, and family. Ask for their donations and in return you and your drama crew will “give back to the people” by doing a certain amount of community service. For instance, write a letter to a local law firm. Tell them, their financial aid is valuable and in return, you and your friends will serve meals at a local food bank, or interact w/ lonely elders at a retirement home, or pick litter up from a nearby road, etc.
