If Scotland Became an Independent Country What Would Happen to the Army?
The Royal regiment of Scotland is part of the UK army but if Scotland were to become to an independent country would the Royal Regiment of Scotland become the army of Scotland. What would happen to the armed forces in Scotland?
What I mean is would the Royal Regiment of Scotland become the army of Scotland independent of the UK if Scotland were to become an independent country?

The British army would be split, the royal regiment of Scotland would become part of the new Scottish army. all forces that are born in Scotland will stay in Scotland.
The SAS however, would most likely stay part of Britain (if Westminster become dicks and deny the English their independence ad well)
Answer rather depends on the nature of England and Scotland’s divorce when (if?) it happens! Logically, the Royal Regiment of Scotland would become the nucleus of an independent Scotland’s army. Whether an independent Scotland could afford (or would indeed wish) to continue defence spending at present UK levels is a much trickier question. And the really hard question would be what about the expensive hardware? That’s even more the case with the air force and the navy. As Scotland is roughly one twelfth of the UK, population’s, would it be entitled to that proportion of naval ships, RAF aircraft etc etc.
