Family from my mother side is Scottish and I am interested in getting back to that heritage and locality. I want to immigrate to Scotland in the coming few years to get the money saved up to begin a new life in new home
Thanks

I actually mailed the supporting documents for my application today to move to Scotland from NYC. As a US citizen you can’t apply for an ancestry visa so you need another option, fiancee/marriage, points based, student, or a company to sponsor you (very difficult for an American)
They are very serious about having enough money and a way to support yourself. I would read through all the requirements so your prepared. You can submit the application on-line and it is pretty expensive. I just paid over $900 just for the application.
Make sure you spend time in Scotland to make sure you can live there.
Good Luck
