I've never been to Scotland, but as someone who recently moved to Ireland, if you want to avoid touristy things do NOT go to the following places, as they are over-rated and not much worth it:

- Guinness Storehouse
- Blarney Castle
- Giants Causeway
- Cliffs of Moher

As far as coastlines and countryside are concerned, 9 days split between Ireland and Scotland is rather short. The best places to visit in Ireland are remote, hard to access, and nearly all require an automobile, but they are immensely worth it. Mount Errigal, the mountains of county Kerry, and especially Malin Head (at the top of Ireland, surrounded by the sea), Connemara, the Aran Islands, all are very much worth it, especially with a good pair of hiking shoes. They are also quite far from Dublin. If you're into archeology the millennia-old neolithic tombs of Newgrange are extraordinary.

I'd like to stress again: you need more than 9 days to explore the countryside of both Ireland and Scotland. I suggest instead to stick to one or the other, and to a specific region of these countries, otherwise it would feel rushed indeed (or at least I'd feel that way).

<a href="http://mycaffeinatedcontent.com">Create a video blog</a>

you have to visit - Blarney Woolen Mills in Blarney, Co. Cork and kiss the Blarney STone and get the gift of the gab.

my favourite has to be Dún Chaoin, near Dingle in Co. Kerry. I honestly don't think i've been to a more beautiful place.

all these are to do with Ireland by the way.

try:

Personally it has to be Loch Lomond, stunning views of the Loch and Ben Lomond and only 40 miles north of Glasgow, its well worth a look.

For more stuff to see you can visit

For helping planning your journey in scotland visit

Hope this helps
