CTMP asked:
We will be driving. Going for 2 nights, 3 days. 4 adults 2 two year olds.
Need to keep in mind that 2 year olds will not like sitting in a car for long periods.
Should we keep 1 base..travel & come back for the night or have a diff base each night?
Need to have at least one good child friendly activity for the trip like a theme park or something else.

I was thinking of going to Loch Lomond & Balamory

The Edinburgh Castle, my nephews love it (one is 2 yo). They loved the 1:00 gun.
Also, up north is nice like Loch Lomond. They’d probably like a boat ride around the lake. There’s a national park too.
Cairngorn is cool in summer but they might be a bit young for a hike down the mountain!
If you base yourself in Dumfries you are within easy reach of some of the most beautiful, but overlooked, countryside in Britain. There is a wealth of places to visit that are child friendly and to get to them you have the pleasure of driving along deserted (well, mostly)country roads with spectacular views
It really depends on what they like, but I’ve found that kids (both small and as big as me!) love the animals on show at Stirling’s Blair Drummond Safari Park.
It’s an absolutely fantastic day out for the family and well wirth a pop if you’ll be in the vicinity. It’s only about an hour from Glasgow in the car. Read below for some more info.
Best,
Scott
