I want to move to Scotland. Its so beautiful with all the mountains and lakes and the misty skies and the castles and the accents, my next door neighbors husband is Scotch and oh he is fine

Not really obvious or common ones. I have a Facebook page called Historic Scotland and it has a Fact of the Day and Question of the Day and I was just looking for some help. Check it out if you would like.
Maybe facts about castles, lochs, history, or battles. Really interesting stuff that is not obvious like ‘Ben Nevis is the highest point in Scotland’ and so on.
I’m planning a genealogical vacation to Scotland next 15 – 30 Sept 2007. I was wondering if anyone can give me tips on how to save money because I’ve heard that it’s real expensive to vacation in Great Brittian. I plan on staying in Kimarnock and rent a small car to get around. I have visit East Ayrshire, Darvel, Galston & Newmilns. Also I need to visit Torqueer, Kirkcudbrightshire. While I’m there I need to go to Edinburgh to visit the National Archives. Has anyone been there? can you give any suggestions? Once I visit all the places I’ve mentioned then I’ll try to visit the Mackenzie-Mckenzie-Mckinzie castles & etc. Is it hard to get use to driving on the wrong side of the car? Just kidding, it’s wrong for me but people who live there probably think we drive on the wrong side here in the USA. I think I’ll rent an automatic because I’m flying into Glasgow and picking up the car there. Can anyone tell where I can stay in Kilmarnock where they’ll allow me to smoke in my room?
I’m doing a project on the top tourist attractions in Scotland and want to talk about the most interesting ones.
However, castles are excluded (I can’t talk about castles as someone else is already doing this topic).
I’m going to Scotland (hopefully in a year or so). I’ve always been fascinated with castles & the whole Scottish culture. What is the best time of year to go & what region is best? I’m really thinking of going to the Highlands. I don’t want to go to a big "city"–I want to visit the smaller towns & the countryside. I also want to stay in a small bed & breakfast. I would love to stay in a castle, but I don’t know of any available. What are some sights I need to see? Any help is greatly appreciated!
I want to go for a vacation to Scotland in october. This is my first time there ….i love castles and the green land there..so what do you suggest having tourist tour or can i make it by my self because i have a budget and i want to safe time and money ..any personal experience.
