Was Scotland on the Royalist Side or the Parliamentarian Side During the English Civil War?

I’m writing a research paper on this and was sort of curious as to where Scotland’s loyalties lay ))

They rebelled against King Charles II when he tried to introduce the Book of Common Prayer but supposedly allied themselves during the War itself?

I’m a bit confused on that
