1 – Scotland: The journey leads to Scotland. Travelling by train, we cross the country from east to west. Scotland. A country of contrast with sweet valleys and desolate Highlands. A country of bagpipes, whisky, myths and legends.

A wet New Year’s Eve just after sunset as Edinburgh prepares for the big Hogmanay bash this evening in Princes Street and the Gardens below the Castle. You can see camera crews setting up to cover it. The lights over in the left in front of the floodlit Bank of Scotland building are from a fair set up over the holidays. Wet night, maybe not the best for standing outdoors for a Hogmanay party!

Very stormy day, pretty close to Stornoway Airport. I am surprised they did not close the road on this day as the waves were nearly coming onto the road.
