I’ve never “vlogged” before, so this is pretty lame. But hoping for some feed back and hopefully will keep going! Going to be in London, England for two days on my own this summer, so I’m looking for some interesting things to do!
(Volume THREE) Eric Turnbow on Vacation To London England in June, 08, 1992 Coach tour of England in 1992. “Gems of Brittan. Speaking with fellow Japanese traveller “Seiko”, who’s name is the same as my watch! We all stayed at “The Scotch Corner Hotel”. Watching British television (again)! Watching some fellow surviving Beatles videos on the tube, (Ringo, George, and Paul, at the time), which is extremely fitting! Off on the road again, heading for Scotland! Taking pictures at the famous rock that separates England from Scotland. (This shot is the back of my cd cover for “I’m Alive” on the artwork! History in the making!
I am planning on studying abroad next year in either Scotland or England, I just have one question…are there many Black people in Scotland. I know that London has a good number of Black people, and that in society they are treated fairly well. How is it in Scotland, is the relationship between black and white people the same as it is in the US. I don’t mind being around mostly white people…I just don’t want to be in a foreign country feeling unwanted.
I’m from london, I’ve got a blackcberry and I’ve got a contract that gives me 100 mins and texts I think. Will it cost me anything to text to a guy in scotland near aberdeen? He’s got a nokia if that helps, don’t know what contract he’s on. Thanks!
Question posed by kunalpatni: Driving holiday from London to Scotland?
I am planning to visit London in the first week of October. I will spend about 3 nights in London (have already been there). From there I plan to take a driving holiday to Scotland or Ireland or both. I have 7 additional nights to spare. My queries:
1. Is a driving holiday suggested. I love driving and want to soak in the scenic beauty of Scotland
2. Can I do both Ireland and Scotland in 7 nights?
3. If I can do only one of the places, which one would be suggested? Scotland or Ireland?
4. What are the best places to visit in Scotland and spend the nights?
5. Any idea about the driving distances and time between places?

Answer by David S I would take the train from London to Glasgow or Edinburgh and hire your car in either of those two cities. You are looking at a 4 hour 30 minute journey rather than a tediuous 10 hour drive and you will see a great deal of England out of the train window. You could go up on Virgin Trains
from London Euston to Glasgow www.virgintrains.co.uk and return via a different route on East Coast from Glasgow or Edinburgh to London Kings Cross. If you book well ahead for specific trains there are some very cheap fares available. www.eastcoast.co.uk
Personally I think cramming both Scotland and Ireland into one week is going to be a bit much.
Depends I suppose on how slowly or fast you like to travel, and I’d stick to Scotland

I’ve just arrived home from Scotland and I’m pondering why there were more hours of sunlight there than in London. It became truly dark at around 11 compared to 9.30 in London?
Does this occur all from the equator to the north pole so high in the northern hemisphere there are the most hours of sunlight?
Im going to be in London December 28th – january 9th and I want to go to scotland. I’ve looked but I can’t find any cheap train tickets for round trip.
